In order for two factor authentication to work successfully, you must have a phone where you can receive the verification code. This verification code is the second layer of authentication in addition to your password. If you are unable to receive the verification code on your device or have lost your phone, you should disable or reset two-factor authentication on your project.
How do I access my project without my phone?
You can access the console without entering the verification code you normally receive on your phone by using the recovery code you received when you first enabled 2FA.
- Login to the console using your Email Address and Password.
- When prompted to enter the verification code, click Enter recovery code.
- Enter your recovery code, and then click Recover and setup 2FA.
At this stage, you will be required to verify a new phone number. You may choose to change this phone number again at any time through your User Settings.
Notice: If you would like to disable two-factor authentication (2FA), you may now do so through your User Settings. If you have access to a project with 2FA as a security requirement, you may still need to enter a verification code at login. The Owner or Admin of the project can disable 2FA through the Project Settings the same way they enabled 2FA. For more information, see Enabling two factor authentication on your Twilio project.
