When you submit a port-in request, it will be received as a standard port request. Porting in the US takes an average of 11 days but due to carrier rejections, it can be extended to 4 weeks and we cannot guarantee a specific date for the port to happen.
As this is a standard port request, we are unable to expedite the process or change the assigned porting date, since it is contingent upon the availability of port dates.
For future port requests, we would like to offer the following options:
Porting with Twilio's API - With this option, you’ll be able to:
- Change porting dates
- Port a number within 3 days
- Set your preferred activation time
In case you need a port to happen on a specific porting date, we recommend checking our Custom porting services and will be handled by a specialized team. You will be able to request a specific porting date, port date changes and set ports on hold (reviewed case by case). To request more information about custom porting prices and availability, you can reach out to your Account Executive - they will be able to provide more details on the process.
If you are unsure about who your designated Account Executive is, please complete the form here for further assistance.
Make sure to include the following details in your request:
- Approximate quantity of numbers to port
- The country/countries of requested numbers
- Number type (ie local, toll-free)
- Twilio Account SID where numbers should be provisioned
Important: Our carriers do not support porting during the weekends or holidays, even when using the Custom porting services. All numbers will port on weekdays between 8:00 and 8:30 A.M. PT. There are some things that you can do to ensure that the process goes smoothly.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to the Porting team at porting@twilio.com
