What Permissions Are Needed to Create and Deploy Segment Functions?

Question

What permissions are required to create, edit, delete, view, enable, connect, or deploy Segment Functions in a workspace?

Product

Twilio Segment

Environment

Segment Console

Answer

Segment Functions access is controlled by two Functions permission roles:

  • Functions Admin: Allows users to create, edit, and delete all functions, or a specified subset of functions.
  • Functions Read-only: Allows users to view all functions, or a specified subset of functions.

Users also need Source Admin permissions to:

  • Enable source functions
  • Connect destination functions to a source
  • Deploy changes to existing functions

Additional Information

Functions permissions can apply to all functions or to a subset of specified functions.
