Why Is the context.protocols Object Missing From Track Event Payloads?

Question

Why is the context.protocols object not appearing in my track event payloads for certain sources?

Answer

The context.protocols object is only included in event payloads when a tracking plan is attached to the source. If a source does not have a tracking plan, event blocking is managed by schema filters, and the context.protocols object will not be present in the event payloads. To include the context.protocols object, attach or enable a tracking plan for the relevant source.
