Issue

Some users require week numbering in Flex Insights (Ytica Analytics) to follow the ISO 8601 standard, where Week 1 is defined as the week containing the year’s first Thursday, and weeks start on Monday. Currently, Flex Insights does not support this standard.

Current Functionality

• Week Range Setting: Flex Insights allows the week range in the Analytics Portal UI to be set to Monday–Sunday or Sunday–Saturday. This setting affects only the calendar display in the UI.
• Week Numbering Logic: The system defines Week 1 as the week containing January 1. There is no option to configure week numbering to follow ISO 8601.
• Reports and Sorting: All reports and sorting calculations use Sunday as the first day of the week, regardless of the UI calendar setting.

ISO 8601 Support Status

• Not Supported: ISO 8601 week numbering is not currently available in Flex Insights.
• Engineering Feedback: Twilio Support has confirmed with the GoodData team (the analytics platform provider for Flex Insights) that ISO 8601 week numbering is not supported at this time. Implementation of this feature would require changes on the GoodData side.
• Feature Request: Customer feedback regarding the need for ISO 8601 week numbering has been shared with Twilio’s product and engineering teams for future consideration.

• UI Adjustment: The week range in the UI can be set to Monday–Sunday, but this does not affect week numbering or report calculations.
• External Processing: For strict ISO 8601 compliance, data can be exported and processed externally to apply the desired week numbering.
