How to Enable Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) Language Selection in Twilio Flex

Question

Is it possible to change the Twilio Flex interface language to Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR)?

Product

Twilio Flex

Environment

Twilio Console

Answer

Yes, you can change the Twilio Flex interface language to Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) by enabling the native Language Selection feature. This feature translates the default base Flex user interface elements—such as standard buttons, agent statuses, and built-in menus—into the agent's preferred language.

To enable this feature in your workspace:

  1. Log in to the Twilio Console and open the Flex Contact Center Settings dashboard
  2. Click on Opt-In Features
  3. Locate the Language selection toggle and switch it to On

Additional Information

Once turned on, language selection is applied on a per-user basis. Agents and supervisors will see a new option under their user profile drop-down menu within the Flex interface where they can select Portuguese.

Please note that this setting only changes the text for the base Flex application. If your team uses custom-built plugins, your developers will need to add additional localization configuration to translate your custom plugin text. For detailed instructions, review the guide on How to Enable Language Selection for Agents.
