Issue
After accepting an invitation to join a Segment workspace, you may find yourself logged into an empty personal workspace instead of your intended company workspace. When following the email invite link to the Segment Console, only the personal workspace is visible.
Product
Twilio Segment
Environment
Segment Console
Cause
This issue is caused by authentication conflicts between legacy Segment invitation links and the unified Twilio Console login system. If you already have an active Twilio login, or if the invitation link has expired or lost synchronization, the invitation fails to map your user account to the correct company workspace.
Resolution
- Contact a Workspace Owner at your company and ask them to remove your email address from the Segment workspace’s access management settings.
- Have the Workspace Owner send a freshly generated invitation to your email address.
- Before opening the new invitation email, log in to the Twilio Console in your web browser to establish an active session.
- Open your email inbox and click the new invitation link while your active Twilio Console session is still running in your browser. This ensures your user account maps correctly to the target workspace.
Additional Information
- Legacy invitation links are prone to expiration or mapping failures if an active Twilio login already exists.
- Accepting a freshly generated invitation while actively logged into the Twilio Console ensures proper account mapping and immediate access to the correct workspace.
