Objective

Learn how to connect multiple location-based audiences to a single offer within Segment Engage Journeys and deliver a unique communication message to each audience without mixing up the messages.

Procedure

To route multiple audiences within a single Journey and ensure they receive localized or unique messaging, utilize a multi-branch split. Follow these steps to configure your Journey:

  1. Log in to the Segment App and navigate to Engage > Journeys.

  2. Click Create Journey or open the existing Journey you wish to configure.

  3. Define a broad Entry Condition that includes all five of your location-based audiences.

  4. Click the + (plus) icon below the entry step to add a new component, and select Multi-branch Split.

  5. Configure a dedicated branch for each unique audience. For each branch, define the criteria so it matches exactly one of your specific location-based audiences.

  6. Beneath each individual branch, add your desired messaging step (such as an email or SMS send step) and configure the specific message intended for that audience.

  7. Ensure that your location-based audiences are mutually exclusive so users only fall into their correct designated branch.

  8. Review the remaining paths, publish the Journey, and monitor performance.
