How to create an audience to Target Users Based on Actions in a Specific Time Window

Objective

If you need to target users who performed any specific action within a specific time window (such as the last 24 to 72 hours), you can achieve this by creating an audience in Twilio Engage. This guide explains how to isolate users based on core tracking events by utilizing the in between time-window property in the audience builder.

Product

Twilio Segment

Environment

Segment Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Workspace Owner or Engage User

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Segment Console and navigate to your Engage space.

  2. Navigate to Engage, select the Audiences tab, and then click Create.

  3. Click Add Condition and choose the Performed an Event option.

  4. Select the specific core tracking event you want to filter by from the available options.

  5. Select the in between time-window property, which allows you to specify events that occurred over a rolling time window in the past.

  6. Configure the specific timeframe for your condition. For example, to target a 24 to 72-hour window, set the condition to look for users who performed the event in between 1 and 3 days ago.

  7. Click Preview Results to see the total number of users who meet the audience criteria.

  8. Once the audience is created and finishes computing, click Select Destinations to connect the audience to your preferred destinations to automatically sync this list of users for your targeted campaigns.
