Objective

This article explains how to update a Mixpanel (Actions) destination in Segment to send events to the EU endpoint. This ensures that data is routed to Mixpanel’s EU data residency environment, which may be required for compliance or organizational policies.

Any role that has Source admin access will be able to perform this action.

Procedure 

To update your endpoint, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Segment Console and open your workspace.
2. Go to the Destinations page and select your Mixpanel destination.
3. Open the configuration settings for the Mixpanel destination.
4. Update the Data Residency setting to use the EU endpoint (api-eu.mixpanel.com).
5. Save the configuration changes.
6. Use the Event Tester in the Segment Console to send a test event and confirm that it is delivered to the EU endpoint.

Additional Information 

• Changing the endpoint only affects new events; historical data is not migrated automatically.
