Expected Wait Times for Segment Audience Computation

Question

How long should I wait for an audience to compute in Segment Engage?

Twilio Segment

Answer

The time required for an audience to compute in Segment Engage varies depending on the overall size of the audience, the complexity of the matching criteria, the connected destinations to it and current system-wide processing volumes.

While smaller audiences often compute within a few minutes, larger lists, or audiences with complex query definitions can take up to 24 hours to fully process. Extended processing times are typically driven by transient infrastructure bottlenecks or concurrent workspace operations. If the audience is linked to a rate limited destination, then this will likely be the bottleneck of the whole computation.

Because these delays are usually temporary, the computation will generally finish successfully on its own without intervention. If your audience run is taking longer than expected, it is recommended to allow extra time for the system to clear the backlog. However, if a calculation remains stuck for an extended period without progress or fails completely, please collect the audience details and contact support.
