"Missing Entry" and "Entity Not Found" Errors in Segment Linked Events Mappings

Issue

When editing Linked Events mappings in the Segment Console, users may encounter warnings such as "Missing Entry" and "Entity Not Found. The entity you selected could not be found. It was likely removed from your Data Graph. Please delete this enrichment. Note that your mappings will need to be updated to remove any invalid references." Despite these warnings, linked event data may continue to flow to downstream destinations.

Product

Segment Linked Events, Segment Data Graph

Environment

Segment Console

Cause

These errors can occur if entities referenced in Linked Events mappings have been removed or modified in the Data Graph configuration. UI inconsistencies or delays in reflecting recent configuration changes may also cause these warnings to appear temporarily.

Resolution

  • Review your Data Graph configuration to ensure all entities referenced in Linked Events mappings are present and correctly defined.
  • If you have recently removed or renamed entities, update your mappings to remove or replace any invalid references.
  • If the warnings persist but data flow is unaffected, refresh the Segment Console or log out and back in, as the issue may be a temporary UI inconsistency.
  • If the issue resolves itself, no further action is required. If it recurs, review recent changes and update mappings as needed.

Additional Information

The "profile" block is not required for Linked Events unless profile sync is needed. UI warnings may not always indicate a disruption in data flow.
