Answer

Yes. Event names - including Event NameMetric Name, and Product Event Name, must be preconfigured in Klaviyo. If an event name isn't set up, it won't be processed or associated with user profiles.

To configure event names in Klaviyo:

  1. Log in to your Klaviyo account.
  2. Navigate to Analytics > Metrics.
  3. Add or verify the event names you plan to send from Segment.

Tip: Event names are case-sensitive, so make sure they exactly match the names used in your Segment integration.
