Why Am I Getting 404 Errors From the Intercom Web (Actions) Destination?

Question

Why do requests sent through Twilio Segment to Intercom Web (Actions) return a 404 error in my browser’s network tab?

Product

Twilio Segment

Environment

Segment Console

Answer

A 404 from Intercom usually means one of two configuration issues. First, the App ID in your Intercom Web (Actions) destination settings may be incorrect. Second, the Regional Data Hosting setting may not match your Intercom plan. Intercom restricts access to EU data hosting based on plan level, so selecting the wrong region can cause all requests to return 404. Updating these values to match your Intercom workspace typically resolves the issue.
