Where can I access delivery logs for events sent to destinations?

Question

Where can I access delivery logs for events sent to destinations?

Product

Twilio Segment

Environment

Segment Console

Answer

Segment only stores logs of the data it receives and does not retain logs of events sent downstream to destinations. This means you cannot see a complete history of all deliveries from Segment to your destination.

To monitor event delivery and troubleshoot issues, you can use Delivery Overview and Event Delivery. These tools provide visibility into the flow of data and are especially useful for identifying errors or delivery failures. Note that delivery data is retained for up to 2 weeks.

Using these tools, you can view each type of error response returned by a destination during the period selected. Clicking on an error displays a sample of up to 20 requests that encountered that error. In most cases, reviewing these samples is sufficient to identify and debug issues.

The Error Detail view also provides a clear, human-readable summary of the error based on the payload Segment received from the destination, helping you understand the cause and take corrective action.
