Procedure

Understanding Flex UI Versions

Flex UI versions are categorized into major, minor, and patch versions. Major versions may include breaking changes, while minor versions introduce new features and improvements. Patch versions focus on bug fixes.

By default, all accounts are configured to automatically update to new Flex UI minor releases. This ensures you receive the latest features and updates without manual intervention.

Manual Updates

If you prefer not to receive automatic updates, you can manually update your Flex version. Regular updates are crucial to remain on a supported version and avoid potential disruptions:

  1. Navigate to Flex > Contact Center Settings > Flex UI Version management
  2. Click on Update to 2.x.x
  3. You will be prompted with a dialog asking you to confirm with the release notes and finish the update process by clicking in the Update button.

Enable/Disable Automatic Updates

  • To enable automatic updates, navigate to your Flex UI versions page in the Twilio Console and turn on “Update minor versions.”

Opting for Early Access

  • If you want to be among the first to receive new minor versions, select the “Be first in line” option. This is recommended for development or testing accounts to explore new features early.

End-of-Life (EOL) Management

  • Monitor the EOL dates for your current Flex UI version. Once a version reaches its EOL date, it will no longer receive updates or support from Twilio.
  • Ensure your Flex UI is updated to a supported version before the EOL date to maintain functionality and security.

Additional Information

  • If you perform the manual update and for some reason you wish to revert the change, just click in the button Revert to 2.x.x.
  • For more details on version management and updates, visit the Flex UI page.
