How to Check Phone Number Geo Permissions in 1Console

Objective

While making outbound calls from Twilio numbers, you may come across error message(s) like Account not authorized to call or receive warnings like 21215, 32205, 13227. These errors indicate that the call is being blocked due to Geo Permissions.

In these situations, before enabling Low-Risk or High-Risk permissions, it will be useful to check whether the destination number belongs to a Low-Risk Number Range or a High-Risk Toll Fraud Range.

Product

Programmable Voice.

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

From the left navigation menu of the Twilio Console, go to Product and Services > Communications > Voice > Settings.

Select the Geo Permissions tab located directly below the Voice Settings title.

Click the Check a phone number button.

Select the country prefix from the dropdown menu.

Enter the destination number (omit the country prefix, as your previous selection automatically populates it).

Click Check Permissions. Once the system completes checking the number, your permission results will be displayed on screen.
