Objective
This article shows you how to go from an aggregate figure in Messaging Insights to the actual messages that produced it, so you can inspect real examples of a failure rather than just its count.
Product
Programmable Messaging
Environment
Twilio Console
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
- Select Messaging, then Insights.
- Navigate to the figure you want to inspect and open the message list:
- On the Delivery and Errors tab, select View Logs on any summary card.
- On the Overview tab, select View message log on a top issue card.
- On the Latency and Scale tab, select a chart segment and then View List of Messages.
- The List of Messages view opens with your current Insights filters already applied, plus the filter for the figure you selected.
- Review the table columns: Date, Message SID, Service, From, To, Carrier, Country, Error code and Subaccount.
- Select a Message SID to open that message's full details, or select a Service to open the Messaging Service it was sent through. Use the copy control next to a SID to copy it.
- Select Export to CSV to download the listed messages, or Go to Messaging Logs to continue in the full messaging logs experience.
Additional Information
- The list inherits the filters that were active in Insights when you opened it, so what you see is scoped to the same traffic as the chart you came from.
- Messages that belong to a subaccount are listed with their SID as plain text rather than as a link, because the detail page lives in that subaccount.
- The exported file is named for the direction of the messages and the date of the export.
- For the full logs experience — including search, wider filtering and per-message delivery steps — see the Messaging Logs articles.
