How do I remove Advanced SMS Pumping Protection?

Objective

This article shows you how to drop Advanced SMS Pumping Protection when you no longer need country-specific tuning, so your account falls back to the free Basic protection.

Product

Programmable Messaging

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Messaging, then SMS Pumping Protection.
  3. On the Advanced Protection card, select Edit Protection.
  4. In the Set Up Advanced Protection panel, select Remove protection.
  5. In the Remove protection? dialog, read the warning that removing advanced protection exposes your numbers to increased risk of fraud, then select Remove.
  6. A confirmation message tells you that SMS pumping protection has been updated and that you have removed Advanced protection.

Additional Information

Removing Advanced Protection returns your account to Basic Protection, which continues to monitor and block high-risk fraudulent SMS pumping attempts at no additional cost. Your country-specific protection levels and messaging use case selection no longer apply.

Select Cancel in the dialog if you want to keep Advanced Protection.
