Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
- Select Messaging, then Insights.
- Select the Risk and Fraud tab.
- Read the SMS Pumping Protection header, which shows the total blocked SMS pumping attempts for the selected window.
- Review the metric cards beneath it:
- Successfully Sent — messages sent after scanning.
- Total Messages Sent
- Estimated total cost savings (USD) — your net saving after the total charge is deducted.
- Estimated saving rate (%)
- SMS pumping spend prevented (USD)
- SMS pumping prevention cost (USD) — the charges for using SMS Pumping Protection.
- Total charge (USD)
- Covered by Twilio (USD)
- Review the Messages scanned by SMS Pumping Protection chart for the trend across the window.
- Scroll to SMS pumping protection by origin countries for the geographic map, and read the Top countries with SMS pumping list beside it, which ranks countries in order.
- Use the control on the map card to switch what the map and the ranked list measure, between Total blocked SMS pumping attempts and Estimated total cost savings.
Additional Information
- SMS Pumping Protection is an add-on. If it is not enabled on your account, the tab shows Unlock SMS Pumping Protection with a Learn how to use SMS Pumping Protection link instead of the metrics.
- Every figure follows the date range and the other filters at the top of the page, so a wider range increases both the blocked count and the reported savings.
- Select Download CSV on the metrics card to export the metric names and values.
- If the map data cannot be loaded, the map section shows Something went wrong while the metric cards continue to render.
- When there is no blocking or savings data for the window, the map legend reads No Blocking Attempts Found or No Estimated Savings Found depending on which measure is selected.
