How do I update my bill and tax details?

Objective

This article explains how to review and change the legal name, purchase order number, main address, and tax IDs used on your Twilio bills, so your invoices carry the right information and tax is calculated correctly.

Product

Twilio Billing

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

You need permission to view billing for the organization. Without it, the billing pages show "Access is required" and the guidance to contact your organization administrator for access.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Billing in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Billing. The overview for your billing group opens.
  3. In the billing group's navigation, select Settings, then Bill and tax details.
  4. Review the current values:
  5. Bill detailsLegal name and Purchase order (PO) number.
  6. Tax detailsMain address and, for customers outside the United States, Tax ID.
  7. Select Update bill and tax details.
  8. Update the fields in the panel and submit the form. If the address you enter needs confirming, follow the address validation prompt.

Additional Information

  • The legal name and PO number are optional. If you change the PO number, the next bill generated displays the new value.
  • The main address is the physical address where you use Twilio services for United States customers, and your permanent place of establishment (for example your head office) for all other customers. The page links to guidance on how tax is calculated from this address.
  • If your business is exempt from United States sales or telecom tax, email your tax exemption certificate and billing group identifiers to taxforms@twilio.com.
  • If the update cannot be saved, a message reads "Unable to update tax details. Please try again later."
  • You can also reach this page from the Update bill and tax details action on the billing type card of the Overview page, and from the header of Bill history.
