Objective
This article shows you how to open one of your authenticated sending domains, read the DNS records Twilio expects you to publish, re-check verification after you update your registrar, and turn on Valimail authentication.
Product
Twilio Email
Environment
Twilio Console
User Account Permission/Role(s) Required
You need a role with permission to view email sender authentication. Without it, Domains does not appear under Email in the sidebar.
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
- Select Email, then Domains.
- On the Domain Authentication tab, select the view details action on the row for the domain you want.
- The page title shows the full sending domain. Read the records table, which lists Type, Host, Value, and Status for each record you need at your DNS provider.
- After you publish or correct a record at your registrar, select Verify Status to re-run the check.
- To enable Valimail authentication for this domain, go to the Settings section and select Enable Valimail. Review the new records to publish in the confirmation dialog, then confirm.
Additional Information
- A record whose status has not been re-checked yet shows "Awaiting status check refresh".
- If you open a domain that has been deleted or does not exist, the page shows "Authenticated domain not found" with a Go back to domains link.
- Turning Valimail off shows the records to revert to before you confirm.
