How do I assign subaccounts to a dedicated IP address?

Objective

This article shows you how to let specific subaccounts send mail from one of your dedicated IP addresses, so you can give a team or customer its own sending identity.

Product

Twilio Email

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

You need a role with permission to view and manage email settings. Without it, Settings does not appear under Email in the sidebar.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Email, then Settings.
  3. Open the IP Addresses tab, then Dedicated IP addresses, and select the edit action on the row for the IP address you want.
  4. Open the Subaccounts enabled tab.
  5. Select Add. The Assign subaccounts dialog opens.
  6. In the Subaccounts field, start typing a subaccount name and pick it from the list. Repeat for each subaccount you want to add.
  7. Select Assign. A confirmation message reads "Subaccounts assigned successfully" and the subaccounts appear in the table.

Additional Information

  • The dialog lists each subaccount by its friendly name together with its account identifier, so you can tell similarly named subaccounts apart.
  • Assign stays unavailable until you have selected at least one subaccount.
  • Before any subaccount is added, the tab shows "No subaccounts are explicitly assigned to this IP".
