How do I edit or delete an IP pool?

Objective

This article shows you how to rename an IP pool, change which dedicated IP addresses it contains, and delete a pool you no longer need.

Product

Twilio Email

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

You need a role with permission to view and manage email settings. Without it, Settings does not appear under Email in the sidebar.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Email, then Settings.
  3. Open the IP Addresses tab, then IP pools.
  4. To find a pool in a long list, select Add filters and filter by IP pool name, IP address, or region.
  5. To change a pool, select the edit action on its row. In the Edit IP pool panel, update the IP pool name, add addresses with Add IP address, or take one out with Remove, then select Save. A confirmation message reads "IP pool updated successfully".
  6. To remove a pool, select the delete action on its row, then confirm in the Delete IP pool? dialog. A confirmation message reads "Successfully deleted IP pool".

Additional Information

  • The default IP pool cannot be deleted, and its name cannot be edited.
  • The IP Addresses column lists the addresses currently in each pool, and Region shows the regions those addresses are in.
  • Removing an address from a pool does not cancel the address; it stays available on the Dedicated IP addresses tab.
