How do I purchase a dedicated IP address?

Objective

This article shows you how to buy a dedicated IP address for Twilio Email. A dedicated IP address separates your mail stream from other senders so your sending reputation depends only on your own traffic.

Product

Twilio Email

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

You need a role with permission to view and manage email settings. Without it, Settings does not appear under Email in the sidebar. Purchasing also requires an account role that can buy products for the account.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Email, then Settings.
  3. Open the IP Addresses tab, then Dedicated IP addresses.
  4. Select Purchase. If you have no IP addresses yet, use the Purchase action in the empty state.
  5. Complete the purchase on the dedicated IP product page that opens.
  6. Return to Dedicated IP addresses. While the new address is being provisioned the page shows "Your IP address is being set up"; the address appears in the table once it is ready.

Additional Information

  • Provisioning can take a few minutes.
  • New dedicated IP addresses need to be warmed up before you send at full volume. Open the IP address after purchase and turn on automated IP warmup if you want Twilio to manage the ramp-up for you.
  • Purchase is not available while you are viewing a subaccount.
