Objective
This article shows you how to add a branded link in Twilio Email so that the tracking links in your emails use a domain you own instead of a Twilio domain. Branded links look more trustworthy to recipients and keep your click tracking on your own brand.
Product
Twilio Email
Environment
Twilio Console
User Account Permission/Role(s) Required
You need a role with permission to view and manage email sender authentication. Without it, Domains does not appear under Email in the sidebar.
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
- Select Email, then Domains.
- Open the Link Branding tab and select Create branded link.
- On the Set up link branding step, enter the domain you want your links to use in the Domain field.
- Optionally expand Advanced Settings and select Use a custom link subdomain, then enter the Link subdomain you prefer. Use letters or numbers only.
- Select Next. Twilio creates the branded link and generates its DNS records.
- On the Install DNS Records step, choose Automated setup to have the records handed to your domain provider, or Manual setup to read the Type, Host, Value, and Status for each record and add them at your registrar yourself.
- Select Complete. A confirmation message reads "Branded link created successfully" and you return to the Link Branding list.
Additional Information
- Domain is required. Selecting Next with the field empty shows the validation message "Domain is required".
- The list shows the branded link with its click-tracking subdomain in front of the domain you entered.
- You can also turn on link branding while you authenticate a sending domain, using the Enable link branding option under Advanced Settings in that wizard.
