How do I search the Twilio Console and Twilio Docs?

Objective

This article shows you how to use the Twilio Console search panel to jump to any Console page or find matching Twilio documentation, so you can reach a page without clicking through the left sidebar.

Product

Twilio Console

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. Open search in either of these ways:
    • Select the magnifying glass Search control in the top bar (when the left sidebar is expanded, the search control appears at the top of the sidebar instead).
    • Press Cmd + K on a Mac, or Ctrl + K on Windows and Linux.
  2. The Search panel opens from the side of the screen. Before you type anything, it shows a Quick Links list with shortcuts such as All Products, Settings Overview, and API keys.
  3. Type at least two characters into the search box, labelled Search Console pages and Twilio Docs.
  4. Results appear as you type, in two groups: matching Console pages first, then a Documentation group of matching Twilio Docs articles. Under each Console result you also see where that page sits in the navigation, so you can tell similarly named pages apart.
  5. A count such as 10 results found appears under the search box. If nothing matches, you see No results found instead.
  6. Choose a result:
    • Select it with the mouse, or
    • Press the Down arrow and Up arrow keys to move through the list and press Enter to open the highlighted result.
  7. A Console result opens in the Console. A Documentation result opens in a new browser tab.
  8. To close the panel without going anywhere, press Escape.

Additional Information

  • Search runs only after you have typed two or more characters, and there is a short pause before results are requested, so results appear a moment after you stop typing.
  • If a Console page you select belongs to a different account or to an organization and you do not currently have one selected, the Console tells you with a short message such as Select an account to search or An organization was not found instead of navigating.
  • If either result group cannot be loaded, the search box shows Could not load Console search results, try reloading the page or Could not load documentation search results, try reloading the page. Reload the page and search again.
  • You can also paste a resource or account SID into the same search box to jump straight to it.
