How do I revoke an identity's access to a Sync Document?

Objective

This article helps you remove a client identity's read, write, and manage access to a Sync Document, so that identity can no longer use the Document.

Product

Twilio Sync

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user role must allow reading Twilio Sync Services to open the Document, and updating them to change its permissions.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Builder tools in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Sync, then Services.
  3. In the Name column, select the Service that holds the Document.
  4. Select the Documents tab, then select the Document in the Unique name / SID column.
  5. Select the Permissions tab.
  6. Find the identity you want to remove, open its row actions menu, and select Delete.
  7. Read the Revoke this access? confirmation, which names the identity and warns that every permission it has on the Document is removed.
  8. Select Revoke to confirm, or Cancel to keep the access.
  9. The console confirms the revocation and the identity is removed from the table. If no identities remain, the tab shows "This Document has no permissions".

Additional Information

  • Revoking removes read, write, and manage access together. You cannot revoke only one of them here to keep partial access, use Edit on the row instead and clear only the settings you want to remove.
  • Revoking is equivalent to saving the permission with all three access settings cleared.
  • Deleting the Document itself also removes every permission on it.
