How do I check my account balance and month-to-date spend?

Objective

This article explains where to find your billing group's current balance or latest invoice, your estimated spend so far this month, and your billing type, so you can see your financial position at a glance.

Product

Twilio Billing

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

You need permission to view billing for the organization. Without it, the page shows "Access is required" with the message "To view or update billing settings, you need additional permissions. Contact your organization administrator to get access."

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Billing in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Billing. The Overview page for your billing group opens.
  3. Review the three cards at the top of the page:
  4. Balance (or Invoice for invoiced billing groups) — the current balance available for future services, or the amount of your latest invoice.
  5. Estimated month to date spend — spend so far in the current billing period.
  6. Billing typePay-as-you-go or Invoice, with a note showing whether auto-recharge is enabled.
  7. Below the cards, see how many accounts are billed to this billing group, and select View linked accounts to list them.
  8. Scroll further for the historical spend chart.

Additional Information

  • The page header shows the billing group name along with its billing type, currency, number of accounts, and identifier.
  • Estimated month to date spend does not include taxes, minimum commitment adjustments, or other fees calculated at the end of the month. For some billing groups it also excludes one-time charges and subscription charges.
  • For invoiced billing groups where an invoice is not yet issued, the card explains that your invoice will be displayed here when it is ready and will be emailed to you within 4-6 business days.
  • The cards link straight to the related tasks: Add more funds or Make payment, View usage summary, View bill history, and Enable auto-recharge or Manage auto-recharge.
  • Trial accounts see "No billing activity yet" with an Upgrade my account action instead of the billing cards.
