How do I add email addresses to my global unsubscribe list?

Objective

This article shows you how to add recipients to your global unsubscribe list in Twilio Email, so that no email from your account is sent to them, whichever unsubscribe group or campaign it belongs to.

Product

Twilio Email

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

You need a role with permission to view and manage email suppressions. Without it, Suppressions does not appear under Email in the sidebar.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Email, then Suppressions.
  3. Open the Global Unsubscribes tab and select Add global unsubscribes.
  4. In the Add global unsubscribes panel, enter the addresses in the Email Addresses field. Separate addresses with commas or new lines.
  5. Select Add. A confirmation message reads "Successfully added" and the new entries appear in the table with Email and Date.
  6. To confirm an address was added, type it into the search box and check that its row appears.

Additional Information

  • You can add up to 500 addresses at a time.
  • Email Addresses is required. Submitting the panel empty shows a message that the field is required, and an entry that is not a valid address shows "One or more email addresses are invalid."
  • A globally unsubscribed recipient is suppressed from all of your email, not just one type. Use an unsubscribe group instead if you only want to opt someone out of one category of mail.
