Objective
This article shows you how to remove a sending domain from Twilio Email when you no longer send from it, either directly from the domain list or from the domain's own page.
Product
Twilio Email
Environment
Twilio Console
User Account Permission/Role(s) Required
You need a role with permission to manage email sender authentication. Without it, Domains does not appear under Email in the sidebar.
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
- Select Email, then Domains.
- On the Domain Authentication tab, find the domain you want to remove.
- Select the delete action on that row. To delete from the domain's own page instead, open the domain first and select Delete.
- In the confirmation dialog, read the message "Are you sure you want to delete this authenticated domain?" and check that it names the domain you intended.
- Select Delete. A confirmation message reads "Successfully deleted authenticated domain", the row disappears from the list, and if you deleted from the domain's page you are returned to the Domain Authentication list.
Additional Information
- Deleting an authenticated domain cannot be undone. Emails sent from that domain lose their authentication, so remove it only when you have stopped sending from it.
- Deleting the domain in Twilio does not remove the DNS records from your registrar. Clean those up separately if you no longer need them.
