How do I delete a Sync Document?

Objective

This article helps you permanently remove a Sync Document, along with its stored payload and every permission granted on it.

Product

Twilio Sync

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user role must allow reading Twilio Sync Services to open the Documents tab, and deleting them to remove a Document.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Builder tools in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Sync, then Services.
  3. In the Name column, select the Service that holds the Document.
  4. Select the Documents tab.
  5. Open the Document's row actions menu and select Delete. You can also open the Document, stay on the Details tab, and select Delete document.
  6. Read the Delete this Sync Document? confirmation, which names the Document and warns that its data and all of its permissions go with it.
  7. Select Delete to confirm, or Cancel to keep the Document.
  8. The console confirms the deletion. If you deleted from the Document's own page, you are returned to the Documents tab and the row is gone.

Additional Information

  • Deleting a Document is irreversible. Its payload and every permission on it are deleted with it.
  • Subscribed clients stop receiving updates for the Document once it is deleted.
  • Deleting the parent Sync Service also deletes all of its Documents.
