Objective
This article helps you set or clear the expiry on a Sync Message Stream, so the Stream is either deleted after a period you choose or kept indefinitely.
Product
Twilio Sync
Environment
Twilio Console
User Account Permission/Role(s) Required
Your user role must allow listing Twilio Sync Services to open the Streams tab, and updating them to save the change.
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Builder tools in the left sidebar.
- Select Sync, then Services.
- In the Name column, select the Service that holds the Stream.
- Select the Streams tab.
- Open the Stream's row actions menu and select Edit time to live.
- In Time to live (seconds), enter how long from now before the Stream expires and is deleted. Enter 0 to keep it indefinitely. This field is required.
- Select Save. The console confirms that the time to live was updated for that Stream, and the Expires column reflects the new value.
Additional Information
- Time to live must be between 0 and 31536000 seconds (one year). A Stream with 0 shows Never in the Expires column.
- The field starts empty rather than showing the current value, because Twilio reports only the resulting expiry date and not the time to live it was set from. Whatever you enter replaces the current value, and the countdown restarts from when you save.
- Time to live is the only property of a Message Stream you can change after it is created, the unique name is fixed at creation time.
