User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user needs the content templates create permission for the account.

 

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Messaging, then Templates.
  3. Select Create new template.
  4. Enter a Template name and select a Template language.
  5. Under Content type, select Call to action, then select Continue.
  6. In the Call to action section, enter your message in Body.
  7. Under Button 1, open Type of action and choose one of Phone number, Visit website, Voice call, Voice call request, or Coupon code.
  8. Enter the button label in Button text.
  9. Fill in the field that appears for the action you chose:
  10. Phone number, enter the number to dial, including the country code prefix (for example +15551234567).
  11. Visit website, enter the address in Website URL.
  12. Coupon code, enter the code in Coupon code.
  13. To add another button, select Add button and repeat steps 7 to 9.
  14. Select Save.

  • A template can have up to 4 call to action buttons.
  • Body allows up to 1024 characters, Button text up to 25 characters, Phone number up to 20 characters, and Coupon code up to 15 characters.

  • A website address must be a valid URL with no white space and may contain at most one variable, which has to sit at the end of the address rather than in the host name.
