How do I create a knowledge base?

Objective

This article shows you how to create a knowledge base in Enterprise Knowledge. A knowledge base is the container that holds your knowledge sources, so you need one before you can add company policies, documentation, or other content that your agents can search.

Product

Enterprise Knowledge

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Data in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Enterprise Knowledge, then Knowledge bases.
  3. Select Create knowledge base.
  4. Under Knowledge base settings, enter a Knowledge base name.
  5. Optionally enter a Description explaining the purpose of this knowledge base.
  6. Select Create knowledge base.
  7. A confirmation appears and the new knowledge base is added to the Knowledge bases table with its current Status.

Additional Information

  • The knowledge base name can be up to 64 characters and may contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens. Spaces are not allowed, and the name must be different from every other knowledge base on the account.
  • The description can be up to 128 characters.
  • You can have up to 5 knowledge bases on an account. If you have reached that limit, delete an existing knowledge base before creating a new one.
  • A new knowledge base starts as Queued and then Provisioning before it becomes Active. While a knowledge base is in one of those states, a refresh control appears in its row so you can check for an updated status.
  • Once the knowledge base is created, add content to it.
