Objective
This article helps you permanently remove a SIP domain you no longer use, and explains what to expect from the confirmation step.
Product
Programmable Voice
Environment
Twilio Console
User Account Permission/Role(s) Required
Your user must have permission to delete Voice SIP domains on the account.
Procedure
- In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
- Select Voice, then SIP domains.
- Select the friendly name of the domain you want to remove.
- Select Delete this SIP Domain at the top of the detail page.
- In the Delete this SIP domain? confirmation, check that the named domain is the one you intend to delete. The warning states that you are about to delete that SIP domain and that you cannot undo this action.
- Select Delete this SIP domain to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.
- A SIP domain deleted confirmation appears and you are returned to the SIP domains list, where the domain no longer appears.
Additional Information
- Deletion cannot be undone. Any SIP infrastructure still sending calls to the domain's SIP URI will stop working.
- Deleting a domain does not delete the IP access control lists or credential lists it used — those remain on the account for other domains.
- If you only want to stop endpoints registering, disable SIP registration on the domain instead of deleting it.
