How do I delete a credential from a credential list?

Objective

This article helps you remove a single username from a credential list so that user can no longer authenticate, and explains why the last remaining credential cannot be removed.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user must have permission to update Voice SIP credential lists on the account.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then SIP domains.
  3. Select the Credential lists tab, then select the friendly name of the list holding the credential.
  4. In the Credentials table, find the row for the username and select Delete.
  5. In the Delete this credential? confirmation, check the named username in the warning text.
  6. Select Delete this credential to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.
  7. A Credential deleted confirmation appears and the row is removed from the table.

Additional Information

  • A credential list must always contain at least one credential. Trying to delete the last one shows Cannot delete credential with "Credential lists need at least one credential. Please create another credential before deleting this one." and offers Create another credential or Cancel instead of a delete option.
  • Selecting Cancel on the confirmation leaves the credential in place.
  • Deleting a credential immediately stops that username authenticating on any SIP domain or trunk that uses this list.
