How do I rename an origination connection policy?

Objective

This article shows you how to change the friendly name of an origination connection policy so it is easier to identify when you attach it to a trunk.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your role must include permission to update connection policies. Without it, the Rename action is not shown on the policy's detail page.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Bring your own carrier.
  3. Select the Origination connection policies tab, then select the policy you want to rename.
  4. Select Rename.
  5. In the Rename Policy dialog, the Policy Friendly name field is pre-filled with the current name. Replace it with the new name. The name is a unique identifier for the policy, up to 255 characters.
  6. Select Save.
  7. A Connection Policy Renamed confirmation appears and the detail page heading shows the new name.

Additional Information

  • A friendly name is required. Clearing the field and saving keeps the dialog open and shows the validation error instead of applying the change.
  • Select Cancel to close the dialog without renaming the policy.
  • Renaming does not change the policy's SID, so trunks already attached to it keep working.
