How do I edit the properties of a SIP domain?

Objective

This article helps you rename a SIP domain or change its SIP URI, so the domain's identity matches how you refer to it in your own systems.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user must have permission to update Voice SIP domains on the account. Without it, the Edit properties button is not shown.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then SIP domains.
  3. Select the friendly name of the domain you want to change.
  4. In the Properties section, select Edit properties.
  5. In the Edit properties panel, update SIP domain friendly name. The help text reads "Configure a Friendly Name to easily identify your domain."
  6. Update the SIP URI prefix if needed. The fixed suffix .sip.twilio.com is shown beside the field.
  7. Select Save.
  8. The panel closes and the Properties section shows the updated friendly name and SIP URI.

Additional Information

  • The form opens pre-filled with the domain's current friendly name and SIP URI prefix.
  • Select Cancel, or the close (X) control, to discard your edits — nothing is saved and the existing values remain.
  • Changing the SIP URI changes the address your SIP infrastructure must send calls to, so update your own configuration to match.
