How do I add a public key credential?

Objective

This article helps you upload a public key to your account so Twilio can use it as a credential for your Voice integration.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user must have permission to update Voice settings on the account.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Settings.
  3. Select the Voice credentials tab, then the Public keys sub-tab.
  4. Select Create Public Key.
  5. In Create public key, enter a Friendly name. The help text reads "A unique identifier for this public key. Maximum 100 characters".
  6. Paste your key into Public key. The help text asks for a URL encoded representation of the public key in PEM format, beginning and ending with the PEM public key markers.
  7. Select Create.
  8. A Public key created confirmation appears with "The public key has been created successfully." and the new credential appears in the table with its identifier and creation date.

Additional Information

  • Both fields are required, and the friendly name is limited to 100 characters.
  • The key must be in PEM format. If it cannot be read, "We are unable to create your Public Key at this time" appears with "Failed to parse public key." and nothing is saved.
  • Select Cancel to close the panel without creating a credential.
  • If your account already has several pages of credentials, the new entry may appear on a later page — use Go to next page to find it.
