How do I update the voice authentication for a SIP domain?

Objective

This article helps you change which IP access control lists and credential lists authenticate inbound SIP calls to a domain, so only the SIP infrastructure and users you trust can reach it.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user must have permission to update Voice SIP credential lists on the account. Without it, the Edit authentication button is not shown.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then SIP domains.
  3. Select the friendly name of the domain you want to change.
  4. In the Voice authentication section, select Edit authentication.
  5. In Edit voice authentication, select the IP access control lists field and choose one or more lists. Each selection appears as a removable entry beside the field.
  6. Select the Credential lists field and choose one or more lists the same way.
  7. Select Save.
  8. An Authentication updated confirmation appears and the Voice authentication section shows the lists you selected.

Additional Information

  • Both fields accept multiple selections. Type in a field to filter the available lists by name.
  • If a list you need does not exist yet, use Create IP access control list or Create credential list inside the same panel. The new list is created immediately, is selected for you, and stays selected alongside your earlier choices.
  • Creating an IP access control list inline asks for List friendly name, IP Address Range friendly name, CIDR network address, and Range, and confirms with "IP access control list created successfully".
  • Creating a credential list inline asks for Credential list friendly name, Username, and Password, and confirms with "Credential list created successfully".
  • Select Cancel to close the panel without changing the domain's authentication.
  • These lists authenticate the invitation for inbound SIP calls to Twilio. Credential lists used for SIP registration are configured separately in the SIP registration section.
