How do I set the from domain for a BYOC trunk?

Objective

This article shows you how to choose which termination SIP domain is used in the From-URI of origination calls on a Bring your own carrier (BYOC) trunk.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your role must include permission to update BYOC trunks. Without it, the Edit from domain action is not shown.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Bring your own carrier.
  3. On the Trunks tab, select the trunk you want to configure.
  4. In the From domain section, select Edit from domain.
  5. In the Edit from domain dialog, choose a domain in the From domain field. You can type to filter the list.
  6. Select Save. The From domain section now shows the domain you selected.

Additional Information

  • The from domain is chosen from the trunk's termination SIP domains, so configure Termination SIP domains first if the list is empty.
  • While a domain is set as the from domain, it cannot be removed from the trunk's termination SIP domains. Clear or change the from domain first.
  • Select Cancel to close the dialog without changing the trunk.
