How do I compare call quality across my subaccounts in Voice Insights?

Objective

This article helps you use the Subaccount Dashboard to see which of the subaccounts under your main account are having call quality problems, and over what period, so you can find where to investigate first.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user needs permission to list call summaries on the account. Without it, the console shows an access-required message instead of the dashboard.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Monitor in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Insights, then Voice.
  3. Select the Subaccounts tab. The Subaccount Dashboard opens, and its description spells out the exact window the figures were run for.
  4. Review the charts, each ranking your top subaccounts on one measure:
    • Total call volume
    • Lowest average length of call
    • Lowest answer ratio
    • Most impacted by post-dial delay
    • Most silent calls
    • Most impacted by network
    • Last SIP response error
    • ICE connectivity failure
    • Average queue time
  5. To change the period, select the time range control — it opens on Last 24 hours — choose a different Time range such as Last 7 days, and select Apply. The description above the charts updates to the new window.
  6. To narrow the dashboard, select Add filters and choose a category:
    • Display time zone — the zone the window is spelled out in.
    • Subaccounts — specific subaccounts to report on.
    • Edge location (region) — a Twilio region.
    • Call volume percentiles — subaccounts above a call-volume threshold, labelled with the call count each percentile works out to, for example 95th percentile (Calls >= 1200).
  7. Select the values you want inside the filter you added. The charts refresh to match.

Additional Information

Your time range and filter choices are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a view or share the link and get the same dashboard back.

Display time zone changes only how the reported window is written out; it does not change which calls are counted.

The Subaccounts and Call volume percentiles filters cannot both be applied at once — choosing one clears the other.

The Subaccount Dashboard requires Voice Insights Advanced Features. Without it, the page shows Uncover more data with Voice Insights Advanced Features with a View details action that takes you to the Voice Insights settings, and a link to the documentation.

The dashboard reports from the US1 region only.
