How do I edit a batch transcription configuration?

Objective

This article explains how to change an existing batch transcription configuration, its name, its language and engine settings, its destination, or its participant mapping, without having to create a replacement.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Transcriptions.
  3. Select the name of the configuration you want to change.
  4. Select the tab holding the settings you want to change — Name configuration, Language & engine, Destination, or Participant mapping.
  5. Select Edit. A form opens, pre-filled with the current values, titled Edit name configuration, Edit language & engine settings, Edit transcription destination method, or Edit participant mapping.
  6. Change the values you need:
    • Name configuration: update the Transcription configuration name or Description.
    • Language & engine: change Language settings, Language, Transcription engine, or Speech model.
    • Destination: update the value in Add a Webhook URL, or change the conversation configuration.
    • Participant mapping: change the role assigned to Participant 1 or Participant 2.
  7. Select Save.
  8. A confirmation appears reading "Transcription configuration updated." and the form closes.

Additional Information

  • To discard your changes, select Cancel. The form closes and nothing is saved.
  • Participant 1 and Participant 2 cannot hold the same role, and an agent role on one channel rules out an agent role on the other. To swap the two roles, set one channel back to Select participant first so the role you want is available on the other.
  • At least one destination method is still required, so you cannot save the Destination section with both the webhook URL and the conversation configuration empty.
