How do I set up daily voice log archive exports?

Objective

This article explains how to turn on ongoing daily archives of your voice activity logs, so that a JSON file is generated for each 24-hour period without your having to request an export every time.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user role must allow reading Voice settings. Daily log archive generation is available to Enterprise accounts only.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Settings.
  3. Select Log archives.
  4. Select Setup daily exports. A Daily exports form opens with a section for each record type: Calls, Conferences, and Conference participants.
  5. In the section for a record type, select Enable to turn on daily archives for it, or Disable to turn them off.
  6. Optionally enter a Webhook URL and choose an HTTP method (POST or GET) so you are notified when that record type's archive is ready.
  7. Repeat for the other record types you want to change.
  8. Select Save.
  9. A confirmation appears reading "Daily exports updated" with the message "Daily export settings saved successfully."

Additional Information

  • Each archive covers a 24-hour period based on the UTC timezone.
  • To discard your changes, select Cancel. The form closes and your previous settings are kept.
  • On accounts without Enterprise access, saving shows "Unable to save daily exports" with the message "Daily Log Archive Generation is only available to Enterprise users. Please talk to sales to request Enterprise access."
  • If a webhook URL is not a valid URL, saving shows "Unable to save daily exports" with "An error occurred while saving your daily export settings. Please try again." The form stays open so you can correct it.
  • Files are removed automatically after seven days.
  • Log archives are available only in the United States (US1) region.
  • Generated files appear under Files.
