How do I delete a public key credential?

Objective

This article helps you permanently remove a public key credential from your account when it is no longer in use or has been superseded.

Product

Programmable Voice

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your user must have permission to update Voice settings on the account.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Settings.
  3. Select the Voice credentials tab, then the Public keys sub-tab.
  4. Find the credential's row and open its Actions menu.
  5. Select Delete.
  6. In the Delete this credential? confirmation, check the friendly name shown. The warning notes that you cannot undo this action.
  7. Select Delete this credential to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.
  8. A Public key deleted confirmation appears with "The public key has been deleted successfully." and the row is removed from the table.

Additional Information

  • Deletion cannot be undone. To use the key again you must upload it as a new credential.
  • Anything that authenticates using this credential stops working as soon as it is deleted, so confirm it is unused first.
  • Selecting Cancel leaves the credential in the list.
