How do I rename an Elastic SIP Trunk?

Objective

This article shows you how to change the friendly name of an Elastic SIP Trunk so it is easier to identify in your trunk list.

Product

Elastic SIP Trunking

Environment

Twilio Console

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Your role must include permission to update SIP trunks.

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Communications in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Voice, then Elastic SIP Trunking.
  3. On the SIP trunks tab, select the trunk you want to rename.
  4. On the General tab, replace the value in the Friendly name field under Properties.
  5. Select Save changes.
  6. A SIP trunk updated. confirmation appears and the trunks list shows the new name.

Additional Information

  • The friendly name is required and limited to 64 characters.
  • Renaming does not change the trunk's SID, so existing integrations that reference the SID keep working.
  • Saving the General tab applies every setting on it, not just the name, so review the other sections before you save.
