How do I check my Verify traffic for SMS fraud?

Objective

This article shows you where to find the fraud view of Verify insights, so you can spot suspicious SMS verification traffic on your account and act on it.

Product

Twilio Verify

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Verify, then Insights.
  3. The Verify insights page opens on the Dashboard tab. Select the Fraud tab beside it.
  4. The Verify SMS Fraud Insights view opens, showing the SMS verification traffic identified as suspicious.

Additional Information

Fraudulent verification traffic typically shows up as a spike of verification requests to countries or number ranges you do not normally serve. If you see that pattern, tightening the Geo permissions tab on the Verify Settings page is the fastest way to stop it.

The Verify Logs area also includes a fraud view of the individual verification records, for when you need to look at specific attempts rather than the aggregated picture.
