How do I try out the Twilio Conversations sandbox?

Objective

The Twilio Conversations sandbox is an interactive demo where you play the part of a customer talking to an AI agent, so you can see how Memory, Knowledge, Orchestrator, Intelligence, and Agent Connect work together before you build anything. This article shows you how to set up and launch it.

Product

Twilio Conversations

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Home in the left sidebar.
  2. In the Try it out section, open the Orchestration tab and select Explore sandbox on the Conversations Sandbox callout.
  3. Under Demo scenario, choose an Industry example and a Use case. Retail and Conversational AI agent are selected for you.
  4. Under Your information:
  5. Your name is prefilled from your Twilio user profile. Change it if you want the agent to call you something else.
  6. Enter Your phone number in international format, starting with a + and your country code, for example +1 555 123 4567. This identifies your demo profile.
  7. Read the Twilio Conversations Sandbox Terms and select I acknowledge and agree to the Twilio Conversations Sandbox Terms.
  8. Review the Review sandbox setup panel on the right, which summarizes what you'll see and the two participants in the conversation, you as the customer, and the example AI agent.
  9. Select Launch demo. Twilio provisions the session and shows Building playground... while it does.
  10. When the session is ready you land on the Live conversation tab and can start talking to the agent.

Additional Information

  • The sandbox is free to use. Usage does not affect your account billing and does not appear in your account logs.
  • You can also reach the sandbox from the Explore Conversations sandbox card on the overview page of Conversation Orchestrator, Conversation Memory, Conversation Intelligence, or Enterprise Knowledge.
  • Your phone number is required and must be a genuine international number. Twilio asks you to Add a "+" and your country code if the + is missing, and rejects a number it can't recognize.
  • Calling and texting the sandbox is only available from numbers with a +1 country code, and only on upgraded accounts. With any other number, or on a trial account, the demo runs over webchat only and Twilio tells you so before you launch.
  • The sandbox terms are recorded once for the whole account. If someone on your account has already accepted them, the checkbox is already selected and locked.
  • Your phone number is remembered for next time, so the form is prefilled when you come back.
  • Demo conversation content is deleted after your session ends.
