How do I create a user in Identity Management?

Objective

This article shows you how to add a user record in Identity Management, including their contact details, the scopes they are granted, and any trusted metadata you want stored with them.

Product

Identity Management

Environment

Twilio Console

Procedure

  1. In the Twilio Console, select Identity & security in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Identity Management, then Users.
  3. Select Create user.
  4. In the Create user panel, fill in:
  5. Email addresses, one or more email addresses, separated by commas.
  6. Phone numbers, one or more phone numbers in E.164 format, separated by commas. Include the country code and the + prefix.
  7. Scopes, the scopes to grant this user.
  8. Optionally, under Claims & metadata, enter Trusted metadata as JSON.
  9. Select Create user.
  10. A confirmation appears and the new user is added to the table.

Additional Information

At least one email address or phone number is required.

Phone numbers must be in E.164 format. A number without a country code and + prefix is rejected, and the message names the values that failed.

Trusted metadata must be valid JSON.

Implicit scopes are always granted and cannot be added or removed here.

The new user may take a few seconds to appear in the table.
